ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A bamboo path on the south eastern coast of Maui. I have chosen black and white as the format for this issue as it focuses on the texture of the dense bamboo foliage without the distraction of colour.

AUTHOR
Richard Vandegriend is a self-taught Vancouver based photographer whose passion is landscape and fine-art photography. Believing that composition and timing are critical to a great image, compositional elements are not altered in post-processing. Instead care and patience are exercised to ensure the image was captured perfectly in camera. As landscape photography is so dependent on lighting and weather conditions, more often than not, great images are discovered rather than planned. One must give themselves the time and opportunity to discover these images.
