Photojournalism: Honorable Mention 2019 (amateur)
Sulfur Workers. by JESUS JIMENEZ (Spain)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Leaving hell with the valuable load of sulfur, they are lucky because they have gas masks.
Many other workers only have a damp cloth to filter poisonous gases.
Only half of the work is done, the worst part has already passed but now the heavy sulfur load has to rise to the top.
AUTHOR
My name is Jesus and I was born in Spain in 1978.
Member of the Spanish Royal society of photography.
Professional airline pilot who allows me to practice my passion for photography in different places.
As a purely urban photographer,I usually spend many hours walking around the city looking carefully at everything around me.
I am very concerned with the situation of the people who have difficulties and my photography shows sometimes the worst human behavior like people look away when they see someone with problems.
Normally I work with a Leica M9 and a 50mm lens, i like to have the control about my camera not the opposite.
