Photomanipulation: Honorable Mention 2019 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Dragonfly_This photo is part of my series AURA which is about our connectivity to everyone and everything. Everything around us is made up of different energy layers that together form something beautiful and in this union there is strength. Butterflies become a snake, orchids a skull, the dragonfly's wings look just like a human and plant cells. We are all one.
AUTHOR
Maritza De Quesada was born in Puerto Rico and later moved to Miami, Florida where she currently resides. She studied Photography and Communications at the University of Miami.
After graduating, she worked as an avid editor working in numerous TV commercials, music videos and short films. Maritza also wrote and directed a short film I’d rather be crazy than boring that has been shown in a variety of film festivals in USA.
As a visual artist, her work is an ongoing exploration of the energy within us and around us, the vibrations and frequencies we cannot see but affects us in different ways. Her work leans towards the abstract and mystical, creating illusions that challenge the way we see the world.
