ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The Olly and Dolly Sisters 1926
„The twins also inspired László Moholy-Nagy for his modernist photomontage Olly & Dolly Sisters. Moholy-Nagy transforms their normally cheerful disposition by a vast emptiness using light, monochromatic colours and simple geometric shapes.”
I am an Hungarian architect and photographer too. Moholy was also an Hungarian artist. I inspired one of the great picture by Moholy. The title name is Olly and Dolly Sisters. What stands out most is the lack. Starting from the title, which is a strange wordplay and a paradox in itself, the presence of at least two dancers could count on the viewer, the other lady's expected spot, but the other spot, interpreted as a head (top-view bubble hair), is empty. the Dolly Sisters and the mirroring of their movements were well known throughout the world at that time.
93 years later, the face cannot be recalled from memory, this paraphrase was born of this idea, but I did not want to show the youthful face.
I took this photo without any photoshop manipulation.

I was born in Budapest in 1975. I am an architect who takes also photos. I am a photographer who designs also buildings. I am interested in modern minimalist architecture and I prefer functionalist architecture too. I like documentary photography and abstract architectural photography too. I live in Budapest.
