ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This image was taken in a small village in Kayah State, Myanmar.
The Padaung ethnic group are famous for their long-necked women who wear coils, not rings, around their necks.The coils are made from brass and gold alloy .The older women wear the coils never removing them. Young girls who decide to wear the coils do so but are able to remove them quickly and easily due to a latch .
