ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I took this picture on a whim while visiting the Art Institute of Chicago. About to head home, I turned around to speak to a companion and instead found a little girl intensely staring at a painting of Mary the Mother of God.
AUTHOR
Lillian McGuire is a new artistic voice working primarily in photography and poetry. Her work is deeply autobiographical and focuses on the fragmentation of the self. She grew up in northern Virginia and often comments upon the lessons learned during an upbringing of subjugation to silent abuse. Her work is of a pained voice, searching for answers, searching for meaning.
