AUTHOR
Frank W. Henning, born 1964 in Hannover, Germany, grew up in close connection to local traditions and rural ancient customs near the North Sea. A member of a folk-dance group himself in the 1970ies he became acquainted with the deep rootedness of the people in their traditions. Starting in the 1980s on his travels through Europe, America, Africa and Asia as well as Australia and New Zealand, he encountered customs and traditions of foreign regions and keeps records since then as an independant photographer. With his pictures he does not only want to give an understanding of cultural heritage but particularly reveals the importance of this area of life for the people and of the historical roots of these traditions.
