Architecture: Honorable Mention 2019 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Venice acquires an special aura of magic and mystery at night
I was looking to give my own perspective on one of the most-photographed destinations.
A Venice that is tranquil and still, devoid of the touristic hustle and bustle that often defines this city.
With no traces of humans in sight, the photograph transmits a quiet stillness that crystalizes this city built on water and allows us to ponder just how little the environment has changed in the centuries since it was constructed.

Work focus: abstract landscape photography with main focus on aerial shots.
I have been involved in photography since I was 10 years old. My father introduced me to the world of analogue photography. In these early days, I gained my first experience with abstract photography in the field of macro photography. Since then aerial photography became my main subject. 80% of my photographic work has consisted of aerial photography in the abstract landscape field. Some of roland blum's essential works are presented in his online gallery www.rolandblum.com
