About CONTRAST CITY: This piece provocatively represents the contrast between the hardness of the big cities of the world, and the tenderness of the hearts and bodies of the people living in them.
With a little winck to Alice in Wonderland, my life in the big city feels unreal (and surreal). It's a bit overwhelming, a little scary, it's a bit exciting, but above all things, I feel we belong to each other; the city and I as part of the same puzzle.
This is a piece that flirts between reality and imagination, as a meeting point between the real cities that we live in and a parallel world; the artist's inner world.
the hardness of the big cities of the world vs the tenderness of the hearts and bodies of its inhabitants.
AUTHOR
As typical small town girl, I was born and raised in the mountains of Argentina. In the 90's my pet was a goat and we were 100 students in my school. From a very young age, I always thought outside the box and was called a freak and Green Dog (because they are rare to be seen and far away from reality); I showed not only interest, but talent, addiction and obsession with the art world. I think, feel and live through my artworks, I connect with reality through them. My art is my way to healing an existential wound.
CREMADECREMA (like crème de la crème but from a trashy third world country), my artistic identity, has taken me on exhibitions around the world, from Argentina to London, the US, Russia and finally Berlin, where I currently live and create.
CREMADECREMA is my artistic identity: like crème de la crème but from a trashy third world country. It is me showing in my artworks the very best of me, but also the very worst.
My work focuses on the self-image, both physical and emotional. I take mostly self-portraits, and what inspires me the most is my inner world (and the gap between it and the real world). I tend to reflect modern life in times of software and social media, broken hearted as a state of mind and life in general from an overly emotional and surreal point of view.
