ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The photo depicted is named "Earth Nipple" to illustrate that we as humans are all children of mother Earth. When this photo was taken I was fortunate enough to be a part of The Grounds Keepers Program which supports hikers who want to “leave it better” and pack out trash as they hike long-distance trails around the country. I use photography as a means to document the world around myself. I create pictures that call attention to things that people often overlook. My goal is to photograph a feeling and draw viewers into the now: we must make a change. 1,117.8 pounds of trash have been removed from trails so far. My presented photograph sheds light on the blessing in front of us every day. It is up to all of us to keep nature beautiful. Giving back feels good!

Andrew "Reptar" Forestell is an entrepreneur, photographer and explorer on a journey to pursue sheer adventure and keep nature clean. After completing a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail (AT) in 2015, Reptar realized he can do more than just share his journey; he can inspire a movement. Reptar self-released The AT Experience, which soared through community theaters and inspired many to take chances and live their lives to the fullest. Subsequently, Reptar set out to hike the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) in 2017 and joined forces with the Granite Gear Groundskeepers to help clean up trash on interconnecting state trails across the United States. After hiking more than four-thousand miles, Reptar stays determined to keep his head high and his eyes forward. His heart and mind are the true lens of his camera. Reptar is currently immersed in creating a second film, The PCT Experience, and will be hiking the Continental Divide Trail in 2021.
