Portrait: Honorable Mention 2019 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Inspired by mid-summer landscapes within the night. My daughter Fiona and I decided that we step outside to photograph the full moon in its magical essence. Fighting the exposure between light and dark to enhance a mood and tone and the simplicity of its features.
AUTHOR
Summers Moore is an artist, photographer, mentor, & curator living in Carbondale Colorado. Summers began photography at a young age, sharing her passion with both her brother and father, whom are avid photographers. Within her photography, Summers exposes the brilliance in nature; human nature, natural light, landscapes, & her living subjects. When Summers’s two daughters were born she found a knack for capturing their expressions of innocence, wonder and joy.
Unfortunately, while her children were young Summers lost her husband. She found solace in the many facets of art after the death of her husband. Since then it has become an integral part of her life, both in developing her talent and expanding her knowledge within the industry. Among many things, Summers highlights her passion for animals in anyway she can. She will forever have dogs by her side throughout the rest of her career. Summers has studied with Emily Soto, Frank Ockenfels & Keith Carter.
