Street: Honorable Mention 2019 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Im unsure the exact year I got this shot. I'm guessing in 2009. I was in the passenger seat of a car when I saw this old man walking through King St In Newtown. He stopped and then turned and I managed to capture him almost looking straight down the lens with one foot hovering off the ground, moving yet standing so eerily still.
I often wonder about this man. I wonder what his story is, and why we made that connection in a split second.
While he almost seems likes a ghost in comparison to the busy rush of people around him, he stands out so dramatically as if he has been placed there by a time machine. Maybe that's what old age feels like? I wish I knew his story.
As I go through my portfolio of photos this is the one shot that haunts me the most with questions.
