ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Gates of Hades is a palimpsest of two images taken in Detroit on the same day, at sunset, in June 2018.
AUTHOR
Born and raised in the Italian city of Turin in 1952, close to the Alps, Daniela Gobetti has lived in the United States for many years, mostly in Ann Arbor. She is a philosopher by training and profession and a bilingual writer in Italian and in English. She occasionally writes poetry in either language. She is now a professional photographer, with a Certificate in Photographic Technology from Washtenaw Community College. Her work reflects her strong interest in the structural features of reality, and the urge to discover and articulate what lies below the surface of things, which are often the concerns of philosophical minds. Her photography work has received numerous recognitions in international competitions. It was shown at the Scarab Club in Detroit in 2018, at Hatch Art Gallery in Hamtramck, at the Swiss Art Expo exhibit in Zürich's Central Station, and at Galerie Camille in downtown Detroit in October 2019.
