Architecture: Honorable Mention 2020 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Looking straight up between the buildings of the St Helen's skyscraper, the Leadenhall Building, (The Cheese Grater) and 22 Bishopsgate, (The Pinnacle). Three of the tallest most modern buildings in the City of London. I have been trying to take this picture all year, but due to the things happening in the world and not the right clouds for the desired effect, I had to wait. The picture is presented as was taken but looks good in any angle. I could not use a tripod (the security guard made sure of that), so I rested the camera on the ground and took this timed exposure at 15 seconds. I used a 10 stop neutral density filter f/stop 11. Taken 11/10/20.
AUTHOR
I have been interested and practising photography from the age of around 15. In another life I spent time as a professional dark room manager.
My life changed dramatically when serious illness, which included major construction of a new stomach.
The route back to a near normal life was to devote myself to a deeper study and interest in photography.
Many things inspire me to take photos; music, books and the thought of being back in hospital where even walking can not be taken for granted.
I can no longer use or handle heavy cameras with long lens because of the weakness in my arms, so I use a smaller camera enabling to shoot with ease in variety of situations.
I strive for simple dynamic powerful pictures.
