Architecture: Honorable Mention 2020 (amateur)
NY Fulton Center Skylight by Dalton Webb (United States)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
You are visiting New York for the first time and you are exploring the major architectural landmarks here.
You are walking along the connecting corridors of two parts of the NY Fulton Transit Station and you see a large sunlight area open up before you. As you walk toward this light your eyes start to move upwards to find its source. That is when you notice a net light pattern leading your eyes up to the skylight about. Due to the cloudy but sunny weather outside, there is a diffused light that hits some of the mesh that fills the sides of the skylight. This effect makes the lower part of the skylight to be much darker than the upper area of the skylight.
