ENTRY DESCRIPTION
In 2019, I experienced a traumatic event.

At that time, I had a film in my camera. Instinctively, I rolled up the film as if I was going back in time. The images of the past are then superimposed on that of the present giving to see a blurring veil similar to that of my mind.

Glaze is a series of silver photography in which I have done some layering.

Over the film, the overlays as the memories fade, the last images are sharp as after the passage of a storm.

Yet here it is the hurricane, you are right in the middle.
Everything is right in this moment before leaving the past behind and moving forward in the present. These photos are presented as a personal shamanic ritual in order to continue living in the present despite the traumatic events that we may encounter.

My name is Tifaine Coignoux, I just got my master's degree in fine arts.

I grew up in the countryside in the Limousin (a quiet place where you don't have a lot of neighboors and so you can have a discussion with cows...). I use to pass all my week-ends outside with my brother. Most of the time we were climbing a few trees and trying to discover unknown places, so we walked a lot, every week-end were like adventures !

I don't really remeber why I wanted to study art (maybe it was just a feeling). However, I find in several projects the sensitivity to nature that I had as a child. it happens in different mediums (installation, performance, photography, writing,...).

The photography that I will submit is also about nature and anthropocene, it comes from a series called Container nuage.
