ENTRY DESCRIPTION
When I created this photograph, the first thing I tought was "it seems she is slipping away, dragged by the light".
So I reflected about the power of perspective in photography, but especially about the meaning of light.
We are used to associate the light to concepts of purity, life, wisdom and divinity, and there are many contexts in which human being seeks light.
But when I look at this photograph I see sinister appearances, because it seems the white light is trying to drag the person away, as it want to kidnap her. On the other hand, in a negative film, white turns black.
I'm not sure to be able to explain this photograph, because it still raises questions in me.
However, each person has his own point of view.
AUTHOR
I am an amateur with the dream to transform my passion in my job.
I discovered photography in 2015, when I started to take the first shots with an old Pentax with film, founded in a wardrobe. That was a present for my dad's birthday from my mother.
Since that moment, photography has been an essential instrument to express myself.
I'm young, so I have a lot to explore an learn about photography, but I started immediately to study and grow my knowledge in every aspect of photography.
This time I would like to try to expose my image to other people, to know if it has value or possibility to be considered.
I shoot portraits in black and white every time, because I think that BnW is a timeless art, that allows to focus on the real importance of the image, avoiding any tipe of distraction and to separate the subject from every other thing.
Furthermore, I often like to use light to create an unreal and dreamy environment, to isolate the subject in a world of light... or shadow.
I take shots in a simple way, it is only camera and me: I don't like too much to "destroy" a picture with post-production, necessary for me only to develop a raw file.
I am simple, as well as my photographs.
This is my photography.
