ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Each year from Nov to Mar, many enthusiastic photographers will gather along the river of Sindian, Taipei, Taiwan to watch and photographed the majestic osprey soar through the sky. It's always a challenge to shoot pictures of them diving for their preys and be able to capture that very moment. Understanding their behaviors is one key factor to get a good picture. I learnt that the best environment temperature for them to be active is around 14 to 18 deg C. They will circle around the river, looking for their best meals. Once identified, the Osprey was so focus to spiral down at high speed, dashed into water for their fish. Before they flew off, the Osprey will orientate their catch in such a way that the fish head was facing forward in order to reduce drag.
In this particular instance, I was so delighted to see this Osprey having successfully caught 2 fishes at one go, what a double happiness; for him and for me too.
AUTHOR
I considered myself an amateur photographer who delights in discoveries of the greatness and beauty of this world.
I was a military pilot for 25 years before joining the airlines since 2007. I love travelling; love nature especially beautiful landscapes. But it was not until 2015 that I became serious with photography. It all started when my wife showing me a beautiful sunbird's chick she took using her compact camera.
There was no turned back thereafter. We started with long tele-photo lenses for bird photography to landscape and most recently, exploring into the beauty of Black and White.
It is my hope that many people will get to see the beauty of this wonderful creation through my lenses.
