ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Parallel lines permeate the composition of this picture, where a roseate spoon-bill bends its leg upwards, reminding us of the posture of a ballerina. Having such an extraordinary color, these birds usually have their color emphasized by photographers despite their beautifully built body. In this shot, I attempted to highlight the forms of this amazing being.
While on an expedition to the southern mangroves of Brazil, I noticed this individual placed immediately in front of a dark green background. Noticing the sheer elegance of this bird's body and the fragile yet profound gaze it was launching at me, I literally got shivers down my spine. It was such a cool moment!
After some time waiting for the decisive moment, I took the shot when the bird's spoon-shaped beak aligned in a parallel way to its leg, creating a sense of deep harmony. Hopefully the peace of this moment will bring a new understanding of the elegance present in a bird.
