Photojournalism: Honorable Mention 2020 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This particular shot was taken July 3rd of this year. I decided to wander around a local zoo for something to do and found myself extremely saddened by many of the animals sitting alone and bored within their tiny enclosure. I came across a cage with two gibbons.. both were sitting pushed against the hard steel caged enclosure. I reached out for one and he reached out and then grabbed his cage. It made me weep. I took this photo to try and capture the feeling I felt when he reached for me unable to grab my hand.
AUTHOR
As a self taught photographer my background in Interior Design has helped hone my skills when it comes to
Detail, composition and lighting. I am usually wandering around in nature taking photos of wildlife and flora and fauna. Nature, landscapes and architecture are some of my favourite Subjects to photograph . I’ve been shooting with a canon since 2017 and love it. I have won two competitions and was published in the Focus on Simcoe magazine. A local magazine hosting some local photographers works . I love using different filters to see what creative shots I can come up with and enjoy dabbling in macro.
