ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Walking in the area of Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, I saw a small gathering of young Muslim women. I was struck by the guardedness of the scene - the dominance of the figure with her back to me, the tall dark figure to the side both in slight protective stance and then the half hidden, more open faces of two others barely visible form the sides. They almost seemed to be of one body - protected acceptance yet a tentative desire for freedom.
