ENTRY DESCRIPTION
A school of Blackfin Barracudas (Sphyraena qenie) forming a tornado-like shape.
This picture was taken in on Bali's coral reefs in the first week of November 2020.
Not very common to encounter this large amount of Barracudas on Bali's Coastlines anymore due to intense overfishing. The current pandemic seems to have a positive effect on Bali's wildlife as more and more pelagic ocean creatures seem to reappear.
AUTHOR
Luca Keller, 22 - Underwater Photographer
At age 19 I decided to leave my home town in the Black Forest of Germany to seek underwater adventure in seas of Southeast Asia. Ever since then I have been on the path of becoming an underwater photographer.
After learning the basics of photography for two years on a small island in the Gulf of Thailand, my path led me to the magical island of Bali where I reside up to this day.
The ocean is providing me with inspiration on a daily basis. No matter if I am searching for tiny ocean critters on the bottom of the seafloor, or if I am encountering some of the largest animals on our planet - every experience is shaping me and my art work.
