ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Global warming has different ways and consequences to show what we do with our planet. Not long ago it was found out that there was another 2 great migrations happening in Botswana where 50.000 zebra were moving from the Chobe river as far as Nxai pan and another one reaching fro the Okavango delta to the Boteti river in the south. Many zebra loose there lives on the way. Schocking it must have been that they found out there was hardly any water left last October in the dried out riverbed of the Boteti river shown in this photo. Found this picture extremely suitable for a monochrome because the dramatic view of dust and stripes with a documentary style composition.

As an eight year old Fred bought himself his first book about a man (Norman Carr) releasing two orphan lions back into the wild. The book had a picture of him walking besides two lions in the African Wilderness. Forgotten about this picture until 2007 he found himself many years later walking with lions in a similar setting in Zimbabwe. (before I knew this would be an issue) Strange how things can come around.

My photography, is an attempt to share my passion for wildlife, setting standards high hoping to be able to make a living out of this and regain my personal freedom. Also to establish more awareness for all creatures on this planet.

Born in the Netherlands I grew up loving the animals I did encounter watching the first documentaries about African wildlife on Dutch TV. Later in life I layed my hand on various forms of employment: visualizer, graphic designer, illustrator, deejay, event organizer, autosport photographer, musician , producer, etc. Tried it all. My true passion in life wasn't clear until I went on a digital photocourseon the spot in South Africa in 2003. It didn't take long for me to return! On my fitst trip to Botswana my eyes opened and I turned my lens into Wildlife Photography. Finally I found my true life's passion. So whenever resources were available I travelled to the delta, desserts and game reserves of Botswana, attempting to capture the most amazing colors and scenes that wildlife had to offer setting the standard higher each trip and gaining more experience. Now I endeavour to share to those sightings with you on various platforms. I hope you enjoy my photography!
Covid and the passing of my personal guide/ safaricompany owner in 2020 did a lot of damage to my traveling though.
