ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Life is hard for most animals. Not the least for the reindeer. They have a few natural predators in Sweden, the climate is rapidly changing their natural habitats and many are raised just to be eaten. Reindeer are great for the climate. They eat the leaves of shrubs and by doing so they control the biosphere. In Sweden we have a rapid increase of shrub cover due to global warming. These shrubs then keep more snow on the ground insulating the ground during the winter which further contributes to even more warming. Research is showing that reindeer grazing controls and limits the spread of rapidly growing competitive species and slows the rate of climate change.
These reindeer perceived me as a threat (which is a good reaction) even though I wish them nothing but lives free from suffering. I managed to freeze this moment in time and it is a moment I will truly cherish.
AUTHOR
I'm an amateur photography and wildlife enthusiast. Being out on adventures with my camera is what I enjoy most in this world. Except for my passion for wildlife photography I have studied environmental science and work as a environmental consultant. I hope that I can inspire people to love our nature as much as I do with my photography.
