Abstract: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
While driving along a road through a dark fir forest, I suddenly saw this very orange, almost glowing deciduous tree, standing all alone between the dark fir trees almost against the light. Although I wanted to photograph fir trees, I stopped immediately. The tree was much more filigree, the forms much rounder than the surrounding fir trees. To make the unexpected form, movement and the beauty of the tree visible in the picture, I moved the camera upwards at a fixed angle for each picture of the panorama shot. With this I wanted to make the extraordinary, unexpected appearance and movement of the tree between the rather static and dominant firs tangible.
