Fine Art: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Shot at the breakwater lighthouse in Victoria, Canada, I composed this image as a long exposure to calm and lighten the water and to allow rain to hide the hills in the background to aid in the minimalism aspect I was trying to attain.
AUTHOR
Born in Vancouver, British Columbia, I am a traveller, adventurer and an emerging photographer, focusing on wild, inhospitable but beautiful places. An adventurous spirit drives me out of the office to explore new and interesting places and environments.
My sense of adventure was intensified with the completion of the Flight4Life expedition, a successful Guinness World Record paramotor flight for which I was a team member and photographer. Three months spent exploring strange new environments through the Australian Outback only strengthened my resolve to evolve from a magazine editor to a landscape photographer.
For the last four years, my travels have taken me from my home in Kelowna, around the world to the ice covered coasts of Iceland, the fjords of Norway, the forests of Germany, the sandy deserts of Australia, the majestic hills of New Zealand, the spectacular national parks of the USA, and the desolate icy landscapes of Canada‘s Arctic.
