Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
An interesting and inviting composition makes a good image. I attempt to make the landscape photos as three dimensional as possible by including elements in the foreground, middle ground and background. I always try to find sight lines that could guide the viewer into the picture.
A wave of clouds slowly enfolding the mountains mimics the mossy grass blanketing the dunes. To me, the picture encapsulates my feeling about some of Iceland’s incredible landscapes: a balance of raw power and peacefulness.
AUTHOR
My work as a language teacher consists in trying to encourage and develop my students’ passion for languages. I graduated as a nature photographer in 2015. I love to turn my focus to the study of forms and lines in nature. I have specialized in Nordic landscapes.
During these past few years, I have developed my visual ability and have found my own photographic style while working with the different visual elements: form, color, movement and lines. I strive to create images which have an unreal and dreamlike atmosphere. An interesting and inviting composition makes a good image. Intuition plays a large role in my photography. The location itself creates a certain mood.
