Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
Frozen Tree, Durham by John Erwin (United Kingdom)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
One of the main questions I ask myself when taking a photograph of a subject is why ?. One of the reasons why is that I love capturing things which on an ordinary day you wouldn’t give a second glance. I have driven past this tree many times but on this occasion I had to stop. The freezing snow had made the tree so ornate. I loved its structure and form. A week later it was back to its normal self, an ordinary tree in the landscape.
