Nature: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
An early morning walk through the gum trees, the sun was lifting over the nearby hill and as it did, the rising morning mist created curtains of light. The rays themselves were astonishing, their beauty as they peaked through each of the branches of the trees, creating such depth, with the birds creating a soundtrack to match, my eyes were drawn to a figure, a dark silhouette with the faintest of halo's, then sun falling across the shape of a lonely kangaroo, who was equally as inquisitive of me as I was of him, we stopped and shared the moment.
AUTHOR
I have been taking photos since my dad handed his old Pentax SLR to me in 1986, I was 8 years old and had no clue what I was doing, but fell in love with the ‘Click’ and the satisfaction of winding on for the next shot. Of course back then, it was shooting on film, so there was no knowing if the shot was a good one until the film was developed, oh the anticipation. Fast forward to today and I have continued taking photos with the same excitement and hunger to get the image just perfect. And that ‘perfect’ (for me) means it captures the very essence of the moment, the feeling, the laughter, the love, the emotion, the beauty, however that is represented.
