ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Photographing a pod of magnificent male Southern Humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) as they chase a solitary female in a mating contest known as a 'Heat Run' to win her affection to procreate. They travel and a very fast fashion but are gentle in their whooshing power as they pass by. It was a rare and wondrous behavior to have the privilege to witness in the waters of Vavau in the Kingdom of Tonga, South Pacific Ocean.
