Photojournalism: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
On the border of Ethiopia and Kenya the Dassenech tribe live in villages with unique dome huts built by the women. This young child walks in her village of 400 people shortly after the men have left with the cattle. The women and children prepare food and look after the village and then relax in some shade in the heat of the day before preparing for dinner and the evening. In this region 91% of children live in poverty and don't have access to basic social and medical services and needs.
