Portrait: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This portrait of Kofi Annan was shoot in Geneva at his foundation.
At that time he was very stressed because we were dealing with different countries about the big problem in Syria. It was the beginning of ISIS.
I only had 3 minutes to take his portrait. I think it speaks by itself.
AUTHOR
Born in Iran, Anoush Abrar is renowned for his inspiring ability to capture the perfect light and composition in any shot. He could be described as provocative, fun,
creative and unique. He lives between Switzerland and London and travels around the World, always inspired by his sense of rarity and his appetite for discovering.
Though on the surface his work orients itself in the tradition of fashion photography and portraits, by deliberately over- or understating in his images, he creates his own and very glamorous signature.
His highly seductive imagery and nose for provocative stories bring a constant new wind to his photography. Among his major exhibitions and numerous Awards, his most notable have been held several times at the National Portrait Gallery in London where he has been twice honored as the Prize Winner.
