Street: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
"Eyes Wide Shut" is part of "Urban Myopia" a series of street photographs. In this series I use the dynamic of shadows and lines to make urban familiar subjects more surrealistic. Subjects are isolated from their environment, the images have no social context, with a vanishing point that seems to turn inward toward the viewer. As I was testing different framings and degrees of saturation, I opted for B&W square images that accentuate the feeling of uncertainty and shift of reality, such as we may experience by viewing a "film noir". My compositional choices tend here to cross boundaries between photography, abstract and graphic design.
