Wildlife: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This image was captured last year at the Onaqui range of the Great Basin Desert in Utah, USA. This is "Cremello", as some who had the privilege to spot him at Onaqui called him. An American wild stallion who calls the desert home. He is the face of courage, resilience and strength of the mustangs, demonstrated in their quest for survival daily on the desert plains. Most people will never have a chance to see American wild horses in their natural habitats. It's my desire that, through my photographs, more will experience the beauty and spirit of these animals and feel compelled to join me on my quest to preserve their safety and freedom. The "Cremello" has since been captured by the US government through their wild horse population control program. He was just recently rescued by a wild horse sanctuary and now lives free.
