Wildlife: Honorable Mention 2020 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I had been cycling all day through the Denali range in Alaska. I'd encountered various creatures, including a goliath Grizzly bear. It had been one of those incredible days, where everything you want to see, you get to see. As watched the bear, a piercing call from above caught my attention. A golden eagle soared right over my head 20 metres above. Just wow....
The light was beginning to fall as I cycled back to my tent, and I didn't want to get caught out by the dark. As I rounded the next corner, right in front of me, stood three beautiful stalwart Dall Sheep. Huge creatures, and stunning against the Denali range behind. I slowed down, dropped my feet to the ground, and began to take pictures. I edged closer with each shot. I didn't have a long lens with me, so I just kept shooting, then edging. I was really pleased with the images I got, from the distant ones to this closer image, which was cropped in to make the sheep the main feature.
