Architecture: Honorable Mention 2021 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The other day in Madrid. We were there to look at architecture. Our guide, an architect himself, takes us to the horse racetrack in Madrid. It was a quiet place, not a horse to be seen far and wide, but a grandstand with a roof made of curved reinforced concrete shells. Freshly renovated, as if skinned from the egg. There it stood, monumental and unique, ready to be photographed.
The Hippodrome in Madrid, built in 1941.
