Architecture: Honorable Mention 2021 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
I photographed the lighthouse osterende in January 2018 on a grey foggy day. First, I finished it in color, and later when I was looking through my photos. I had the idea to make a black and white/fine art treatment out of it. The position of the tower in the corner left plenty of space to show the moving clouds. And I found that the simple shape of the tower supports the minimalism of the picture well. The tower was built in 1984, it is made of concrete and has a height of 38 meters, and is located near brokdorf on the lower Elbe.
AUTHOR
My enthusiasm for photography started early. Back then in analog times, at the age of maybe 10 years, I already went out with my father to take pictures. of course still rather undirected and photographing everything that came in front of my lens. With time I became more intensively involved with photography and the techniques behind it. And bought my first digital camera. After that, the first books about photography and also started to use the first digital image editing programs. I also stopped taking pictures of everything that came into my view and started to take a special interest in landscape photography and the photography of animals. I also discovered an enthusiasm for fine art and black and white. I still have a lot to experience and discover in photography. Because for me photography is a path on which you learn new things your whole life and which you follow forever.
