ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This particular photo, taken from a series of 7, calls to mind Heisenberg's principle of Uncertainty. Heisenberg supposed that if you know the exact speed of a particle then you cannot know its precise location. Conversely, if you know the particle's precise location then you cannot know its exact speed. This piece engages with a similar idea. The print alludes to a human, but their body language and expression remain obscure. Instead, like Heisenberg, we can only theorize their emotions.
This piece was made on an Inkjet Printer. Inscribed across the print is a minute grain. This granular artifact is the result of the motion blur and the printmaking process. It calls to mind the very particles Heisenberg was investigating.
