ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This image is part of a series on tidal swimming pools and one of my favourites. It was taken on the shores of Sydney NSW, Australia in 2016. It was shot at dawn, very low light and a long exposure. I was surprised to see how well the person in the pool registered, he must have been very still, just dreaming at first light and waiting for the sun to rise. The incoming tide meant the pool was continually overflowing so the overflow registered in spite of the long exposure. I particularly like the light just catching the steps to the pool from the sea. The net is also intriguing, just one left, they are there to protect the pool from wildlife entering such as sharks and jelly fish, but often get destroyed by stormy seas.
