ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Sun marks time and my prints.
Shooting on large format cameras (from 4x5 up to 16x20 inches), I use vintage b/w silver gelatin photographic papers on my film holders, exposing them for long time, from seconds to many hours.
Sunlight, intensified by lens, literally burns the emulsion, inverting the latent image to a positive, often producing holes and colored edges.
Only few kinds of papers, once tested, produce acceptable results and the lack of a film negative means that final result is one of a kind print.
This project allows me to track the passing time in somehow unexpected way; to get in touch with legendary enlarging papers and to be warmed by sun and a sense of bliss.
