Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2021 (amateur)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Monte Seceda, Dolomites, Italy.
Night camping in a tent to photograph the sunrise after a night storm. The enormous amount of humidity downstream slowly ascended the left side of the mountain, which, due to its particular structure, behaves like the prow of a ship that cuts through the waves, but in this case with the fog, which has thickened uniformly against the mountain and freeing itself all around once you get over the top.
AUTHOR
Christian Basetti lives in Milan.
Passionate about architectural and landscape photography, he feels the challenge of making the shots talk about the great works built, as if they were silent narcissistic creatures waiting for someone to express their greatness.
Since 2015, he has been passionate about ancient decadent places too, giving voice to these structures full of melancholy charm.
With a style aimed at aesthetics it is never limited to the documentary aspect, but wants to show the pride of places destined to be erased from time, inspired by Caravaggio's style in the representation of environments.
