ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Such fantastic ice patterns only arise due to very special conditions in nature. This natural artwork was created through the interplay of very gentle and slow wave movements and the simultaneous freezing of the water. Hundreds of tiny air bubbles were also trapped in the ice. The low standing winter sun beautifully illuminated and accentuated this fantastic frozen pattern. This photograph was taken along the frozen shoreline of Lake Selbusjøen in central Norway.
