ENTRY DESCRIPTION
For a few brief days every couple of years the cold winter air descends on Copenhagen and converts the mixed fresh and saltwater of the harbor into an incredible tapestry. As people retreat from nature to wait it out, or bundle themselves under layers upon layers of clothing - nature transforms the city. This photo captures that moment of transition - a fleeting view of city and nature colliding. The polished smooth surface of the frozen waters slowly picked up added depth and texture while a light snow fell. But, just an hour after this photo was taken, so much snow had fallen that the details became obscured and the cracks seemed to be painted over and smoothed. It makes it one of my favorite photos of Copenhagen and in my opinion one of the most unique.
AUTHOR
Born in Colorado, I grew up in Arizona and was deeply impacted by the contrast between the two landscapes. In recent years I moved to Copenhagen which has brought with it an entirely new perspective, light, and opportunity to explore and capture the world. The majority of my work focuses on capturing the moment with a focus on realism.
