Karo Tribal Girl. by Polly Fenton (Australia)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This photo was taken in 2019 in the Omo Valley, Ethiopia. The tribal woman is one of the Karo Tribe. They are the smallest tribe in Sth Ethiopia that resides along the banks of the Omo River.
They are naturally artistic and adorn themselves with bright colours. They are renowned for their intricate and alluring face and body painting, using white chalk and natural minerals. The goat skins they wear are also adorned with beautiful beads and they wear many beaded necklaces.
It was a great honour and trip of a life time to have been able to spent some time with these amazing people.
