ENTRY DESCRIPTION
The Suri Tribe from Sth Ethiopia pride themselves in their rituals of body scarification, as a sign of beauty, plus to attract a husband and also a larger dowry. they pride themselves on their scars and how many they can carry.
This tribe also insert clay plates into their bottom lips and ear lobes, also to enhance their beauty.
Young girls use their skin as a surface to express themselves artistically, complete with elaborate head gear such as flowers or bottle tops.
I felt extremely privileged to have been able to spend time with this incredible tribe. It was the trip of a life time.
