Kiyv, 2020

In August 2020 I did series of self-portraits called "Locked up". Trying to explore my condition and feelings as mother, wife and just a woman. When I become mother in 2018, I realized that I don't know "Who am I now" and "Where is my place". So I've decided to look from the side in order to see reality - to see Liza.
AUTHOR
My name is Liza, or Yelyzaveta. My surname by birth is Yablonska. When I got married, succumbing to the impulse, I changed it to Mykhailus. Over time, I began to feel discomfort with my last name on my passport, but I no longer felt like Yablonska either. Therefore, as an assumed name I use a double surname - Yablonska-Mykhailus.
I was born in the worst period of winter, however, at the magical break of silence and awakening - February 26, 1994. In the city of Dnipro (a.k.a. Dnipropetrovsk, a.k.a. Katerynoslav, a.k.a. Sicheslav), I am indescribably proud of it. If you still don't know anything about this harsh industrial city, or you already have a mediocre impression of it, I will do my best to make you fall in love with it even a little bit (because nothing is impossible in the world). For the last 9 years I`ve been living in Kyiv, which I also have fallen in love with (which is clearly visible from my photos of the city).
I could just say that I'm an illustrator, photographer, mom and blah-blah (another social roles). But I am also a researcher of life. That is why photography takes a huge place in my living. I feel strong necessity in documentating my surrounding and people I meet.
