ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Each year from May to November, thousands of southern hemisphere humpback whales pass Cape Bryon as they migrate from Antarctica to the northern Australian waters. Here they give birth, before heading home. Thankfully the species numbers have reversed with now over 30,000 whales, that are increasing around 10 per cent every year.
The awe of the humpback whales never ceases to amaze me. They are like 'gentle giants' of the sea. A breach is always powerful and impressive. Something magical happens on the ocean. It feels like time stands still as you wait never knowing what to expect. Every time is different, and amazing. I was fortunate to capture this full breach.
