ENTRY DESCRIPTION
African Elephants - the endangered giants of Africa. After decades of poaching for the ivory they carry in their tusks, these magnificant creatures have officially been declared "Endangered" when it was added to the IUCN Red List in March of this year. The moment captured in this photo symbolises the vulnerability of these giants due to their valuable tusks.

Nadia de Lange is a fine art photographer based in Zurich, Switzerland. She aims to capture the soul of her subject, be it a landscape, building or animal, transforming what others see in the scene into what she sees when looking through the lens. Using mainly black and white, the emphasis is on form and contrast and how the interaction between these elements create beauty.
