ENTRY DESCRIPTION
This shot was taken in the Tarangire National Park in Tanzania.
This cape buffalo was part of a herd that had just stopped to look at us in a rather suspicions manner. The pose of this male just captured the moment. The eye contact was clearly on me. It's horns were magnificent. The lighting was just right with slightly more sun on the left of the head. At the same time, the light brought out beautifully the texture on the horns and the detail in the head and hair.
In essence, I wanted to bring out the darkness and grittiness of this animal. It is aggressive and unpredictable, killing a lot of people in Southern Africa each year.
AUTHOR
A memory of past events, experiences and emotions through my eyes.
I have always loved photography. What I really enjoy is taking images that first and foremost appeal to me. They must always evoke a memory of a past event or an experience - the coldness of the snow, the taste of coffee, the smell of a perfume, the music which was playing at the time and most importantly, family and friends. To me, photography is a true art form which must have an emotional connection.
I have a fairly eclectic style. Basically, if I like it, I'll shoot it.
Photography for me is a journey of continual innovation and improvement - always striving to be better and trying to look at things in a different way - the inspiring moment, a dash of the unexpected and a hint of the unknown.
