Landscapes: Honorable Mention 2021 (professional)
ENTRY DESCRIPTION
Faraway in the Ngari region of Tibet is the Zhada county. The area is a tectonic movement marvel, which resulted in several hundred square kilometres of twisted, fantastic formation of soil and rocks, which is also known as "Earth Forest in Tibet". While similar landscapes can be seen in other places, but thanks to the arid atmosphere, the area is incredibly well preserved and one of the largest in scale. Three photos were taken and stitched into this panorama image to reproduce the rich details and textures.
AUTHOR
My interest in photography was sparked off by my brother, when he taught me how to use his film camera. But I really have no idea how passionate I am until my first son was born and now I am crazy enough to ride an eight-hours horse trip at remote mountain trail in Northern Xinjiang to capture its stunning landscape. My effort really paid off in 2016 - being won the Grand Award of 2016 National Geographic Travel Photographer of the Year!
